The Owego Fire Department has a group of responders who provide support services called Emergency Support Services (ESS) that was organized in January 2007. These individuals respond to incidents and provide food and beverage services to firefighters, EMS, and fire police. They also help organize and provide refreshment services at department functions and community events.

In addition to providing beverages, snacks, and meals as at emergency calls and working at the firefighter rehabilitation stations, ESS supports activities related to department elections, inspection dinner, educational classes, the department banquet and picnic as well as the Christmas party.

Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month September through June. Current officers are Co-Presidents Joan Reynolds and Mary Mundt and Secretary-Treasurer is Charlie Gilbert.
